Family History

The information about the Bucknell churchyard was originally transcribed by Bucknell Women's Institute and was updated in 2012 by the webmaster Graham Jackson.

The plan above is an approximation of the positions of the 349 gravestones and memorials within the churchyard. The earliest legible inscription records a death in 1701, but a significant number of inscriptions were completely illegible. The inscriptions were catalogued in 1985 by the Bucknell WI and now, decades later, many of the gravestones will have suffered further deterioration making them almost illegible but those that were/are legible have been noted and can be read by hovering your mouse over the black cross. This may not work in some browsers and may not respond or appear correctly in some very small screens due to the density of the gravestones.

A red cross + on the plan indicates that the gravestone is illegible, also it should be pointed out that with the passage of time the legibility of these recorded inscriptions will have suffered further deterioration.

An alphabetical list of gravestones can be found here.
